The Khopra Danda Trek combined with Mohare Hill is a rewarding journey through a less-traveled and pristine region of the Annapurna range, offering breathtaking mountain views and rich encounters with the Gurung culture.
This moderately challenging trek leads you through Nangi Village (2,260m), nestled between Beni and Poon Hill, and continues to Khopra Danda (3,660m), located just north of the popular Ghorepani route. Nangi is gaining recognition as a model eco-friendly village, promoting sustainable agriculture and offering vocational training to locals. It even supports a small cottage industry that produces handmade paper.
Khopra Danda, more remote and peaceful, offers some of the most spectacular panoramic views in the region, especially of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri massifs. The Dhaulagiri range itself stretches over 120 km, and the vistas from Khopra are truly unforgettable.
Throughout the trek, you’ll witness an impressive lineup of Himalayan giants including Dhaulagiri I (8,167m), Annapurna I (8,091m – 10th highest in the world), Annapurna II (7,937m), Annapurna III (7,555m), Annapurna IV (7,525m), Nilgiri (7,061m), Bharha Shikhar (7,647m), Hiunchuli (6,441m), Machapuchare (6,997m), Lamjung Himal (6,987m), and even the majestic Manaslu (8,163m). This trek is ideal for those seeking both stunning scenery and cultural depth in a quieter, more authentic trekking environment.
