The Langtang and Gosaikunda Trek is one of the most popular journeys within Langtang National Park, located northeast of Kathmandu in central Nepal. This trek offers a rich blend of natural beauty and cultural insight, passing through deep gorges, rocky trails, pine forests, and yak pastures. Along the way, you’ll experience Buddhist traditions, visit serene monasteries, explore charming villages and terraced hillsides, and marvel at glaciers flowing from towering peaks. A highlight of the trek is the sacred Gosaikunda Lake (4,380m)—a pristine alpine freshwater lake nestled high in the Rasuwa mountains.
The trek begins with a scenic drive along the Trishuli River from Kathmandu, passing through Trishuli Bazaar and Dhunche, before reaching Syabrubesi—a Tamang village beside the Bhote Koshi River where the trek officially starts. From Syabrubesi, the trail follows the Langtang River to Lama Hotel, where we spend the first night.
The next day, the trek continues from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village, a large Tamang community. From there, we proceed to Kyangin Gompa, where we rest for a day to acclimatize. During this break, trekkers can explore the local yak cheese factory, hike to the Tserko Ri Viewpoint, and visit the Kyangin Gompa monastery.
