Tsum Valley Trek

15 Days 14 Nights

The Tsum Valley Trek, located in northern Gorkha, is a culturally rich and scenically stunning journey into one of Nepal’s most secluded Himalayan regions. This valley, which only opened to trekkers in 2008, offers a rare glimpse into a preserved Tibetan-influenced lifestyle. The local people trace their origins to Tibet, speak their own dialect, and maintain deep-rooted traditions in art, culture, and religion. The peaceful environment, ancient monasteries, and breathtaking mountain views make this trek an unforgettable experience.

Surrounded by majestic peaks such as Ganesh Himal, Shringi Himal, and Boudha Himal, Tsum Valley is also rich in biodiversity. Lush forests, fast-flowing rivers, and sacred caves add to the natural and spiritual appeal of the region. Important religious sites include Rachen Gompa and Mu Gompa, two of the most revered monasteries in the valley.

The trek begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Arughat, then continues to Soti Khola. Following the Budhi Gandaki River upstream, you’ll pass through charming villages and dense forests filled with pine and rhododendron trees. From Soti Khola, the trail leads to Jagat, and then to Lokpa, which marks the gateway to the Tsum Valley.
