Oxygen Cylinder and other medical equipment necessary?

Summit Tilicho Peak at 7,135 meters doesn't require oxygen cylinder and other medical equipment. But sometimes due to high altitude in case of an emergency our company will provide all the necessary equipment.

What is the weight limit for porter?

One porter can carry a maximum of 25 kilograms weight due to the difficulties of the trail and high altitude. Usually, we provide one porter per client.

Do I need a climbing permit for Tilicho Peak?

Yes, a climbing permit is required to attempt Tilicho Peak. You can obtain the permit from the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) in Kathmandu.

Tilicho Peak Expedition

Tilicho Peak Climbing (7,134 m) is one of the most stunning and challenging 7,000-meter expeditions in Nepal’s Annapurna region. Situated about 210 km west of Kathmandu, the peak captivates climbers with its dramatic beauty and remote location. Tilicho Peak was first climbed in 1978 by French climber Emanuel Schmutz, who ascended via the Northwest shoulder, now recognized as the standard route by the Nepal government and Department of Tourism.

Positioned near Tilicho Lake and forming part of the Great Barrier—a high ridge that connects Khangsar Kang (7,458 m) and Nilgiri North (7,061 m)—Tilicho Peak is not only technically demanding but also incredibly rewarding. The mountain was first identified in 1950 by Maurice Herzog’s expedition while exploring the Annapurna region.

Tilicho Peak Expedition is an attractive peak. It is situated in the high Himalayan region of Manang. Tilicho Peak is the highest point of the Great Barrier that links Khangsar Kang at 7,558 m and Nilgiri North at 7,061 m. The French Expedition team was the first to ascend the Tilicho Peak via the North West Shoulder. An expedition led by Emanuel Schmutz in 1978. Though Tilicho Peak Climbing is exciting and challenging. We will have an opportunity to explore the highest lake on Earth. That is Tilicho Lake at 4,920 meters.

Day 01 :

Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350 m) and Transfer to Hotel

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, a representative will greet you and assist with your transfer to the hotel. After check-in, you can rest or explore the nearby areas. A briefing about the expedition will be held in the evening. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

Day 02 :

Preparation, Briefings at Department of Tourism, Last-Minute Shopping & Office Formalities

Today is dedicated to pre-expedition preparation. Attend the official briefing at the Department of Tourism, complete necessary paperwork, and finalize climbing permits. You’ll also have time for last-minute gear checks and shopping. Overnight stay at your hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 03 :

Drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar (760 m) – Approx. 8 Hours, Lodge Accommodation

After an early breakfast, begin the scenic drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar, the gateway to the Annapurna region. The journey takes around 8 hours, passing through riverside roads, terraced hills, and local villages. Upon arrival, check into a lodge for an overnight stay.

Day 04 :

Trek from Chame to Pisang (3,100 m) – Approx. 5 Hours, Lodge Accommodation

Begin your trek from Chame, following the Marsyangdi River through dense pine forests and narrow valleys. As you gain altitude, enjoy impressive views of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal. After about 5 hours of trekking, reach the picturesque village of Pisang. Overnight stay at a lodge.

Day 05 :

Trek from Pisang to Manang (3,440 m) – 5–6 Hours, Lodge Accommodation

Today’s trek offers stunning mountain scenery as you follow the upper trail through Ghyaru and Ngawal, providing panoramic views of Annapurna II, III, IV, and Tilicho Peak. After 5–6 hours of trekking through arid terrain and unique Himalayan landscapes, arrive in Manang, a vibrant village rich in culture. Overnight stay at a lodge.

Day 06 :

Acclimatization Day in Manang – Lodge Accommodation

Today is a scheduled rest day to help your body adjust to the altitude. You can explore Manang village, visit the local monastery, or hike to nearby viewpoints such as Gangapurna Lake or the Ice Lake for incredible mountain vistas. Staying active helps with acclimatization. Overnight stay at a lodge in Manang.

Day 07 :

Trek from Manang to Khangsar (3,734 m) – Approx. 5 Hours, Lodge Accommodation

Leave Manang and follow the trail along the Marsyangdi River before ascending toward the secluded village of Khangsar. The route offers scenic views of the Annapurna range and passes ancient monasteries and mani walls. After about 5 hours of trekking, arrive in Khangsar. Overnight stay at a lodge.

Day 08 :

Trek from Khangsar to Besi Khola (3,955 m) – Approx. 5 Hours, Camping/Lodge Accommodation

Today’s trail ascends gradually through rugged alpine terrain with stunning views of Tilicho Peak and the surrounding landscapes. After approximately 5 hours of trekking, reach Besi Khola, a remote and peaceful area. Depending on availability, accommodation will be in a basic lodge or tented camp.

Day 09 :

Trek from Besi Khola to Tilicho Base Camp (4,150 m) – Approx. 5 Hours, Camping Accommodation

Continue your journey with a steady ascent through rocky and glacial terrain. The trail offers magnificent views of Tilicho Peak and the surrounding Himalayas. After about 5 hours of trekking, arrive at Tilicho Base Camp, where you’ll set up camp and rest for the night in preparation for the climb ahead.

Day 10 :

11–26: Climbing Period for Tilicho Peak (7,134 m)

Over the course of these 16 days, your focus will be on safely ascending and descending Tilicho Peak. You'll establish and move between multiple high camps (typically Camp I at ~5,800 m and Camp II at ~6,100 m), with acclimatization, rest, and weather consideration days included. The summit push will be made when conditions are most favorable. From the top of Tilicho Peak, enjoy breathtaking views of the Annapurna massif, Dhaulagiri, Tilicho Lake, the Tibetan Plateau, and the Kali Gandaki Valley. After summiting, you'll safely return to base camp for rest and recovery.

Day 11 :

27: Clean Up Base Camp and Trek to Khangsar (3,734 m) – Approx. 5 Hours, Lodge Accommodation

After a successful summit, begin your return by cleaning up Tilicho Base Camp, following Leave No Trace principles. Then trek back to Khangsar through familiar terrain, taking about 5 hours. Enjoy a warm meal and well-earned rest at a local lodge in Khangsar.

Day 12 :

28: Trek from Khangsar to Thorong Phedi (4,420 m) – Approx. 4 Hours, Lodge Accommodation

Depart Khangsar and rejoin the Annapurna Circuit trail, trekking towards Thorong Phedi. The route involves a gradual ascent through rocky terrain and alpine landscapes. After about 4 hours of trekking, arrive at Thorong Phedi, the last stop before crossing Thorong La Pass. Overnight stay at a lodge.

Day 13 :

Trek from Thorong Phedi to Muktinath (3,850 m) via Thorong La Pass (5,416 m) – Approx. 9 Hours, Lodge Accommodation

Begin the day early with a challenging ascent to Thorong La Pass (5,416 m), one of the highest trekking passes in the world. Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views from the top before descending steeply to Muktinath, a sacred pilgrimage site revered by both Hindus and Buddhists. The full trek takes around 9 hours. Overnight stay at a lodge in Muktinath.

Day 14 :

30: Trek from Muktinath to Jomsom (2,700 m) – Approx. 4 Hours, Lodge Accommodation

Today, descend through scenic valleys and traditional villages as you make your way from Muktinath to Jomsom. The trek takes about 4 hours along a well-marked trail with beautiful views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. Upon arrival in Jomsom, relax and stay overnight at a lodge.

Day 15 :

31: Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara (950 m) and Transfer to Hotel – Hotel Accommodation

Take a short scenic flight from Jomsom to Pokhara, enjoying stunning aerial views of the Himalayas and valleys below. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel for rest and relaxation. Overnight stay at the hotel in Pokhara.

Day 16 :

32: Travel from Pokhara to Kathmandu – By Tourist Bus (7 Hours) or Flight (25 Minutes)

Choose between a scenic 7-hour bus journey or a quick 25-minute flight from Pokhara back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, enjoy a special farewell dinner featuring traditional Nepali cuisine and a cultural program showcasing local music and dance. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 17 :

Transfer to Airport for Final Departure or Optional Activities

On your final day, you will be transferred from your hotel to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward flight. Alternatively, you may choose to extend your stay by joining other cultural tours, sightseeing, or adventure activities in Nepal. Safe travels!
